It’s Not Your Fault That You’re Fat.

You’re overweight.

 

You don’t want to be.

 

But you can’t stop eating.

 

Sugar cookies, chocolate, pizza, donuts…you know you “shouldn’t”, but you do.

 

You tell yourself you’re done.
No more dessert.

 

No more carbs.

 

And then, you’re tired and having one of those days…and you just need a treat to get you through.

 

You beat yourself up for your lack of willpower, your inability to keep a commitment to yourself, your weakness.

 

You feel broken and discouraged and ashamed.

 

You can’t follow through with anything.

 

You’re the worst.

 

So you might as well just give up and have a burger, fries, and a shake.

 

Because you’re never going to be able to do this.

 

But what if it wasn’t your willpower, resolve, or inner-strength’s fault?

 

What if you’re body was doing exactly what it was supposed to do
burn glucose (sugar) for energy,
store what wasn’t used for later,
and signal you to conserve energy in the meantime?

 

What if it was simply hormones doing their job?
